2. Разница между номинальной и рыночной стоимостью акции, облигации или другой ценной бумаги.
3. Разница между ценой эмиссии и рыночной ценой акции или ценной бумаги. Так, при начале операций с акциями нового выпуска говорится, что рыночная цена включает премию по отношению к цене эмиссии (см.: stag (биржевой спекулянт)).
4. Цена, которую уплачивает продавцу покупатель свободно обращающегося опциона (option) за право его использования. Надбавки или премии определяются на бирже или на рынке в ходе свободного торга (ореп outcry) на торговой площадке (pit), а их уровень зависит от предложения и спроса на данный опцион в данный конкретный момент. В целом надбавка/премия, которую запрашивают за опцион, состоит из двух компонентов: его внутренней стоимости (intrinsic value) и его срочной стоимости (time value).

Часть потребителей, особенно с высоким уровнем дохода, предпочитает переплачивать за качество и осознание того факта, что они покупают продукцию высшего класса. Это позволяет производителю и продавцу получать от реализации таких товаров большую норму прибыли. Вот, например, такой продукт, как водка. Напиток высшей степени очистки, сдобренный различными вкусовыми добавками и настойками трав, превосходит по цене наскоро замешенный на воде спирт от силы в 2 раза, если не позиционируется в классе премиум. А вот бутылка премиум-водки может стоить дороже бутылки коньяка. При этом покупатель платит основную часть денег не за качество продукта, а за этикетку. Примерно так же обстоят дела почти во всех товарных категориях. Очень значительную долю себестоимости товара составляют расходы на рекламу, упаковку и промоушн, формирующие имидж премиум-продукта. Понятия о том, что собой представляет сегмент «премиум», меняются не только в зависимости от товарной категории, но и от одного производителя к другому. Маркетологи некоторых компаний даже придумывают новые сегменты – «суперпремиум» или «ультрапремиум», тут уж недалеко и до «гиперпремиум» или «мегапремиум». Но не стоит принимать все эти приставки всерьез, ибо это не больше чем субъективное видение рыночной ниши со стороны не очень-то богатого воображением маркетолога.
